The effectiveness for corrosion protection on a vehicle was put to test with the following experiment :
(1A) A Corrosion coupon was placed in front door showing a sachet of VCI product mounted on a panel at the lower left side.
(1B) Corrosion coupon in front door - after an installation period of 317 days.
(2A) A Corrosion coupon placed in rear door, without any VCI corrosion protection.
(2B) Corrosion coupon in rear door - after an installation period of 317 days.
(3) Visual inspection of the coupons shows serious and substantial corrosion, of the unprotected coupon. There are only marks on the protected coupon, but no visual metal loss.
Conclusion:
(3) Visual inspection of the coupons shows serious and substantial corrosion, of the unprotected coupon. There are only marks on the protected coupon, but no visual metal loss.

Buildings
Prevention of corrosion of air conditioning systems. A treatment to prevent corrosion of the air conditioning system in a building consisting of 10 floors was executed successfully - which resulted in a unique and novel application.
(1A) Initial Investigation:
Severe general corrosion of the entire piping was noticeable.
(1B) Initial Investigation
(2A) Identified causes of the Problem:
Absence of vapour shield below brackets / clamps as well as damaged shield & insulation.
(3A) Condition of the corrosion coupons which were removed from the portion of pipe that was treated with the corrosion inhibitor.
(3B) Condition of the corrosion coupons which were removed from the portion of pipe that was not treated with the corrosion inhibitor.
(4) Condition of the untreated pipe and thermal insulation where the corroded corrosion coupon sample was removed from.
Summary:
Project was successfully completed after 6 months, 34km of piping was treated with 2 200kg of vapour corrosion inhibitor injected. Most of the work was carried out after hours and over week-ends.
The following results were noticeable :
* An effective reduction of corrosion of the pipe work.
* A significant increase in the life span of the system.
* A substantial cost saving for the client.
* Minimal disruption to the normal business activities of the specific client.
